Louise A. Mead, age 79, resident of Mill Stream Court Apartments, passed away at Cortland Regional Hospital on Friday, January 4, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Louise was born in Auburn on August 24, 1939, a daughter of the late Harold A. and Isabelle (Morris) Defendorf Sr. She was a graduate of Moravia High School and had worked at NCR in Ithaca and Smith-Corona in Cortland when she was first married. She also waitressed at local restaurants, and for several years, worked in customer service at the Modern Market in Moravia. Louise was an active and lifetime member of the VFW Post 7127 Ladies Auxiliary in Moravia. Louise (“Wuise”) was characterized by her favorites; the color purple, cooking her children and grandchildren’s most requested foods, tic-tacs, ‘Cuse Basketball and Football, and the NY Yankees. Her hobbies included: IPAD gaming, playing Pitch and Bingo, humming songs, listening to music, and dancing. Most of all she enjoyed the time spent with her loving family and friends, who will miss her deeply.
She is survived by her children, Michael A. (Marie) Pasho of Moravia, Angelique M. Pasho of Anderson, SC, Frederick P. (Donna) Pasho of Moravia, John R. (April) Pasho III of Olive Branch, MS; her grandchildren, Nichole Oltz, Rachael (Zachary) Pickert, Eric (Marissa), Megan and Gregory Pasho, John Pasho IV and Jessica (Kendall) Faust; her great grandchildren, Adilynn, Brixley and Caelym; her siblings, Joyce Hawley, Maryruth Shields, and Harold “Duffy” (Lynne) Defendorf Jr. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Mead in 2011.
