Marion Rose Stewart of 8274 County Road #141, Interlaken, passed away at the Cayuga Medical Center on Sunday, December 5, 2004 at the age of 90.
Born on April 7, 1914 in Ridgebury, Pennsylvania, Marion was the daughter of Stephen E. Wilcox and Rose A. Owens Wilcox.
She enjoyed the many friendships made while working at Willard Psychiatric Center from 1948 until her retirement on March 9, 1977.
Marion also became acquainted with many people in the Interlaken area through her membership in the Christ Lutheran Evangelical Church in Kidders.
She could often be found with a crochet needle in her hand, making one of countless treasures for a family member or friend. Family was the focal point of Marionís life. Local family gatherings and summer visits to relatives in Pennsylvania always brought happiness to Marion. She also found comfort in caring for her cats.
Marion was preceded in death by her two husbands, Robert R. Gleason and Robert W. Stewart; one daughter, Barbara A. Gleason English and one son, Gary N. Gleason.
She is survived by four daughters, Carol Draheim, Janet Johnson, Kathleen Covert, and Elaine Joseph, all of Interlaken; one son, John Gleason of Clifton Park; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In keeping with Marionís wishes, no public calling hours have been scheduled.
Services will be held at the Christ Lutheran Evangelical Church on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Carl Happ officiating. Prayers of Committal will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Interlaken.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marionís memory may be directed to the Christ Lutheran Evangelical Church, 7966 County Rd. #153, Interlaken, NY 14847.
