Constance R. Bennett of 2020 Cayuga Street Extension, Trumansburg, passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the age of 82.

Connie was born in Trevorton, Pennsylvania to the late Roy and Gertrude (Haupt) Beaver. She worked at several doctor’s offices in Ithaca before going to work at Morse Chain as a secretary. Connie then went on to work as a secretary at the Tompkins County Health Department.

Connie was an avid bowler and met her future husband, Robert, at the bowling alley. She loved traveling throughout the country with her sister Carol. Connie also enjoyed spending her lunchtime hour with the ladies of the “Ladybug Lunch Club.” But more than anything else, Connie loved spending time with her family and she always looked forward to extended family gatherings.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Bill Beaver; and a sister, Virginia Marchinetti. She is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, Robert Bennett of Trumansburg; a daughter, Patti (Steve) Riddle of Trumansburg; a sister, Carol (John) Wilson; a brother, Jack Beaver; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Eugene O'Hara, OFM Cap on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 11:00am at St. James the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 17 Whig St, Trumansburg. A reception will be held at the American Legion Post 770 in Trumansburg immediately following. Prayers of committal will be held in St. James Cemetery in Trumansburg at a later date.
