Aline M. EverhartAline M. (Smith) Everhart of 302 Connecticut Hill Rd., Enfield, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by family on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the age of 95 after a brief illness.

Aline was born on September 2, 1914 in the town of Enfield, one of four children, one of whom was her twin sister, Alice, to the late Hulse and Mary Smith. She was a life-long resident of Enfield and graduated from Ithaca High School in 1934. Aline worked at Newberry’s, Dodd’s Nursing Home, and Rothschild’s in Ithaca for many years while raising her family.

Among her interests were second-generation rug weaving, quilting, sewing for family and handwork.

She was a life-long member of Trumbull’s Corners Community Church, serving the Lord with a loving, dedicated heart.

Aline married the late Arthur C. Everhart on August 18, 1940. She is survived by her children, David (Lorraine) Everhart of Enfield, Elizabeth (Louis) Loiselle of Enfield, Janet (Michael) Carlisle of Newfield, Barbara (Dean) Wilkins of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Douglass (Lena) Everhart of Enfield; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; three sister-in-laws, Fern Ferris of Ithaca, Pearl Everhart of Auburn, and Jinny Everhart of Griffin, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; her parents; a brother, Earl; and two sisters, Ella and Alice.

The family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg. Services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Trumbulls Corners Community Church with the Pastor Dale Ford officiating. Prayers of committal will follow at the Trumbulls Corners Cemetery.
