J. William KenneyJ. William (Bill) Kenney, of Mecklenburg, passed away unexpectedly at Strong Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the age of 77.

Bill was born on December 10, 1932 in Brooklyn, the son of the late Eugene and Helen (Cashal) Kenney.  Bill served in the United States Air Force and earned his Bachelor's of Science degree from Cornell University.  For several years, Bill held a variety of Management positions in the Dairy Industry which included the General Manager of

Sealtest Ice Cream in Framingham, MA.  Bill grew tired of corporate life and followed his entrepreneurial heart to be in his own business. For 36 years prior to retirement, he was a partner and then owner and operator of AgriCulver Seeds Inc. in Mecklenburg, NY .  

Bill is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 53 years, Terry, seven children and their spouses, sixteen grandchildren, and his sister.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters. Bill's passion for life and wonderful sense of humor will be remembered by all.

One of Bill's favorite quotes is from the book The Little Prince-"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly.  What is essential is invisible to the eye."

In keeping with Bill's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Mass will be celebrated by Fr. John Tokaz and Fr. Eugene O'Hara, OFM Caps on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 1:00pm at St. James the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 17 Whig St, Trumansburg. Prayers of committal will follow in St. James Cemetery in Trumansburg.
