Margaret I. King, formerly of Trumansburg, passed away at the Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the age of 95.

Born in Holstein, Ontario, Canada on November 21, 1914, she graduated from Holstein Continuation School and from Oshawa General Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She came to the United States and worked at Clifton Springs Spa from 1937 until 1942. She married and reared her children in Seneca Falls, where she practiced hospital bedside, industrial and psychiatric nursing until retiring as a Doctorís office nurse. She very much enjoyed playing the piano, singing, dancing, birdwatching, walking and spending time with her family and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Annie Elizabeth Kilner Irvin; three brothers, Lindsay, Arthur, and Jack; two sisters, Doris and Daisy; and ex-husband Oren King.

She is survived by a son, David King of Sausalito, California; a daughter, Peggy (Phil) Jackson of Trumansburg; two beloved grandchildren, Peter Jackson of Florida and Thembi (Dirk) Hightchew of Trumansburg; a great-grandson, Jake Hightchew of Trumansburg; a brother, Dr. Richard Brown Irvin of Canada; and many nieces and nephews of Canada.

In keeping with Margaretís wishes no calling hours are scheduled. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
