David MikulaDavid Mikula, Sr. of Trumansburg died on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the age of 55.

David was born in Ithaca, New York the son of Martin and Marilyn (LaPoint) Mikula, Sr. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1972 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1975. The US Marine Corps always held a special place in David’s heart. Beginning in 1987, David, along with his brother, Jim, owned and operated Taber Street Auto Repair in Ithaca. He also was the assistant leader of his son, Dominic’s, Boy Scout Troop.

David was preceded in death by his father, Martin S. Mikula, Sr. in 1969; and a brother, Martin S. Mikula, Jr. in 2002. He is survived by his wife, Kindra Voorheis-Mikula; six children, Roxanne Wood (Justin Milks) of Candor, David (Kristi) Mikula of Newfield, Alexandria “Alley” Mikula, Mackenzie Mikula, Dominic Mikula, and Madison Mikula; his mother, Marilyn Seeley of Trumansburg; a brother, Jim Seeley (Brenda Collins) of Trumansburg; six grandchildren, Austin Wood, Cole and Logan Milks, Keegan, Hayden, and Jacoby Mikula; a step-brother, Richard Seeley of Ithaca; a step-sister, Gaylee Matthews of Newfield; and his step-father Clifford Seeley of Texas.

The family will be present to receive friends from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St, Trumansburg.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 30th at the Glad Tidings Christian Life Church, 116 Breesport Road, Horseheads.
