Mildred A. MorseMildred Frey Morse, age 84, passed away Sunday March 14, 2010 while surrounded by her loving family.

Millie was born January 15, 1926 in Yonkers, NY, a daughter to the late Harold and Frances (Podlesny) Frey. She relocated to Ithaca to become a student at the Cornell Hotel School where she met her husband George. They traveled early in their career managing hotels. They returned to Ithaca to start a family.

Millie had many hobbies and interests. She loved sewing, antiquing, cooking, animals, shopping, and especially her family. She was a former member of the Ithaca Yacht Club, Antique associations, and Immaculate Conception Church. Millie’s collection of crafts and antiques grew to the point that she was able to share many keepsakes with her family and friends. Millie and her friend Gerry opened Village Interiors in Trumansburg (an interior decorating and antique shop).

Millie is survived by her husband George L. Morse of Union Springs; three sons, Carl (Simone) Morse of Newfield, G. Lincoln Morse, Jr of Trumansburg and David (Susan) Morse of Voorheesville; one daughter Mary (Daryl) Besemer of Trumansburg; three brothers, Otto (Helen) Frey of Yonkers, Harold Frey of Springfield, MA and Edward Frey of Yonkers; nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Caitlin and Shayna Morse, George, Joseph and Kevin Besemer, Marcus Gregg, Hannah Morse and Paige Morse; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Robert Besemer and Aurora Faith Besemer and many loving nieces and nephews. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to Millie’s companion and friend Marion.

In keeping with Millie’s wishes, services will be private.
