James Burton “Bud” Riddle, age 90, of 7173 Searsburg Rd, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Hospicare Residence in Ithaca.

Bud was born June 14, 1920 in Ithaca, the son of William Henry and Gertrude (Martin) Riddle. 

Bud graduated from Ithaca High School in 1938.  After serving his country in the Army, Bud worked 43 years at Morse Chain as a pattern maker. 

In 1946 Bud built his own home in Trumansburg, where he resided until his passing on Thursday.  He enjoyed many hobbies including woodworking, fishing, hunting, bowling and playing cards.  During the summer months, Bud kept an impeccable yard at his home while also spending a great deal of time at his cottage on Frontenac Beach.  He enjoyed his Canadian fishing trips and the 11 consecutive winters spent in Pine Island, FL.

Bud was a founder of the Trumansburg Fish & Game Club, a member of the Eagles, American Legion Post 770, MIA, and Trumansburg Bowling League. 

Bud is survived by a son, Craig H. (Grace) Riddle of Trumansburg;  daughter -in- law, Kathleen Riddle of Florida; 5 grandchildren; 14 step- grandchildren; 7 great-grand children and 9 step- great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis; his second wife M. Louise and one son, Terry E. Riddle. 

Services will begin at 10:00 am on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St,Trumansburg with the Rev. Dennis Christiansen officiating. Prayers of Committal will follow at Grove Cemetery. Members of the Arthur E. Bouton American Legion Post #770 in Trumansburg will perform a Military Honors Tribute at the Cemetery.
