Charles D.K. Smith of 9617 Townsendville Rd, Interlaken, passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the age of 65.

Born on July 13, 1945 in Harford, Pennsylvania, Chuck was the son of Ernest Kiesinger and Harriet Weber. In his youth, Chuck was an avid hunter and fisherman. Later in life he discovered a passion for automobiles and a continual yearning to tinker with them. (Especially a treasured Torino) He was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation in Ithaca for many years, retiring in 1996 due to illness.

Chuck is survived by June A. Smith of Interlaken; their four children, Nina (Craig) Carpenter of Trumansburg, Bonnie (Sheila Quirk) Smith of Florida, Kimberly (Douglas) Bullivant of Interlaken, and Charles (Tammy) Smith, Jr of Trumansburg and their five grandchildren, Nicole, Anthony, Richard, Christopher, and Ashley. He is also survived by five brothers, Henry, John, Vilroy, Edwin, and Alvin; three sisters, Nina, Winnie, and Ruth and many nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St, Trumansburg.
