Muriel MacLeanMuriel Evangeline MacLean of Mecklenburg passed away at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the age of 88.

Muriel was born in Manhattan, New York on October 14, 1928, a daughter of the late John and Effie (MacCrea) MacLean. She worked as a data processor for Morse Chain for several years before becoming a lifelong caregiver. Muriel did daycare before beginning elderly care where she worked as a health aide for Oak Hill Manor, followed by private care in residences.

While living in Trumansburg she enjoyed spending time with friends at Juniper Manor and attending church and bible study at Calvary Baptist. Muriel was an avid knitter, New York Giants fan, and animal lover, caring for several cats over the years.

Muriel’s family would like to thank all of her past caregivers and friends and staff on Unit 3 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility for the loving care they provided to her over the past several years.

Muriel is survived by two sons, John J. (Roxi) Everhart and Ronald M. (Donna) Everhart; four grandchildren, Kerri (Corey) Mount, Katie (Nick Reygers) Everhart, Koby (Marjatta Pakkala) Everhart, and Corrine Everhart; seven great grandchildren; and a special niece, Pauline Davis, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Muriel was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bree Everhart; her siblings, John and Bob MacLean, and Effie MacPherson; and former husbands, Ralph J. Everhart and Tony Vona.

The family will be present to receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00am on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 21 Bradley Street, Trumansburg. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 11:00am at the church. Prayers of committal will follow at Frear Memorial Park.
