Randy L. Tompkins, age 65, of Trumansburg, passed away on October 18, 2017.
Born in Montour Falls on October 27, 1951, Randy was the son of the late Robert and Phyllis (Chaffee) Tompkins.  After graduating from high school he took a job at Therm, where he completed a 4-year apprenticeship program and several college courses, culminating in his certification as a Journeyman Machinist. Randy continued at Therm for a total of 25 years. For the next 20 years, until his retirement, he was employed as a machinist at Borg Warner Morse TEC, and was extremely proud to be a member of Local Teamster Union 317.
Randy is survived by his wife, Fae (Hovencamp) Tompkins; his children, Nathan (Brenda) Tompkins of Trumansburg, Ian (Lucienne) Tompkins of Etna, Emily (Theodore) Ivory of Newfield, and Abby (Michael) Hubbell of Trumansburg; his grandchildren, Alora Tompkins, and Erin and Gabriel Hubbell; and a sister, Polly Taricska of Cleveland, OH.  In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Norris, and Rebecca’s daughter, his niece, Jennifer Nagell.
The family asks that friends and family join them at their home located at 6485 Jacksonville Road, Trumansburg, on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 1:00 PM for a Time of Remembrance, followed by a reception also at their home until 3:00 PM.
