Richard R. "Dick" AlbertsmanRichard R. “Dick” Albertsman of Trumansburg passed away at Cayuga Medical Center surrounded by family on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the age of 75.
 
Dick was born in Rochester on December 4, 1942, a son of the late Bernard and Augusta (Bilka) Albertsman Sr. He graduated from Trumansburg High School in 1960 and worked in the printing industry at NCR for 10 years and then the Ithaca Journal for 25 years prior to his retirement. After retiring, Dick helped family and friends with home renovations. He took great pride in mowing his lawn, enjoyed daily crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and was an avid fan of both the NY Yankees and NY Giants.
 
The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the care and compassion given to them by Hannah Potts and all the staff at Cayuga Hematology Oncology Associates.
 
Dick is survived by his loving companion, Lexie King; six children, Wendy (David) Hecht, Deborah Rhodes, Richard (Denae) Albertsman Jr., Katherine (Patrick) Howe, Matthew (Jennifer) Albertsman, and Sandy (Lewis) Boyce; 12 grandchildren, Colleen, Cassie, Justin, Anna, Kaleigh, Brittni, Ryan, Bryce, Julia, Tyler, Evelyn, and Ashley; 6 great grandchildren, Colton, Lain, Maverick, Lola, Riggs, and Aleigha; six siblings, Peter (Michelle) Albertsman, Patricia Dickerson, Anne Albertsman, Bernard (Mary) Albertsman, James Albertsman, and Julie (Archie) MacArthur; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Albertsman.
 
The family will be present to receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Memorial Service will immediately begin at 2:00pm at the funeral home.
