Ernest A. Kostrub of Trumansburg passed away at home on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the age of 70.
 
Ernie was born in Trumansburg on January 25, 1948, a son of the late Frank and Margaret (Greeson) Kostrub. He graduated from Trumansburg High School in 1965 and attended Cornell University earning his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Ernie was best known for working at Kostrub’s Luncheonette, befriending everyone who came into the store. He went on to work at Trillium at Cornell before retiring 4 years ago. Ernie enjoyed sports and was a lifelong NY Mets fan. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
 
Ernie is survived by his siblings, Francis G. (Kathy) Kostrub, Ica K. (Homer) Leonard, Corrine M. (Chris) Isakson, and Marie K. (Martin) Mankowski; sister in law, Frances Fahsel; special cousin, Sondra (Jeff) Burns; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by his half-brother, Michael Fahsel.
 
The family will be present to receive friends from Noon to 2:00pm on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 2:00pm.
