A. Wooden, Mark

d. November 9, 2002

Mark A. Wooden of 6031 Podunk Road, Trumansburg passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, November 9, 2002 at the age of 40.

Born on February 8, 1962 in Ithaca, Mark was the son of James H. Wooden of Trumansburg and Lois Tomlinson Wooden who passed away on August 13, 2001.

Mark was a well-liked member of the Trumansburg High School's graduating class of 1982. Over the years he continued to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Often times this meant that his own projects had to be put on hold but with a smile and his "can do" attitude Mark repeatedly placed the needs of others before his own.

He was also a devoted and caring father and grandfather who showed great pride in his family. Warm memories of Mark will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

An avid sportsman, Mark always enjoyed being outdoors, especially during hunting and fishing season.

In addition to his father, James H. Wooden of Trumansburg, Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Amy of Trumansburg; twin sons, Tyler and Travis Wooden of Trumansburg, a son, Jason (Lelani) Grant of Trumansburg and a daughter, Jennifer (Larry) Grant of Ithaca; four grandsons; one sister, Bondolin J. Postell of Huntsville, AL; one brother, Luke (Denise) of Ithaca; paternal grandmother, Lillian M. Wooden of Trumansburg and four nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Jacksonville Community United Methodist Church on Friday, November 15, 2002 at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Billie Jean Melton officiating.

The family will be present to receive their friends at a reception in the church hall, immediately following the services.
