Thomas A. Pugh of 117 Tamarack Lane, Trumansburg passed away at Lakeside Nursing Home on Monday, December 11, 2006 at the age of 88.
Born in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania on November 19, 1918, Thomas was the son of John Thomas Pugh and Hannah Hughes Pugh. In 1944 he entered the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific Theatre during WW II until the time of his honorable discharge on December 3, 1945.
Thomas was a professional fireman at the Seneca Army Depot for many years and willingly shared his firefighting expertise with the volunteer fire departments with which he was affiliated. He was also active in Cub Scouts and NARFE. His most cherished memories were those made with family.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leslie Pugh and John Henry Pugh. Thomas is survived by his devoted wife, Inez C. Grenci Pugh of Trumansburg; one son, Thomas Arthur Pugh, Jr. (Gayla Stroble) of Gautier, MS; one daughter, Geraldine (Robert) Todi of Trumansburg; five grandchildren, Marguerite Lester, Jerrod Prevost (Laura Capogrossi), Jeannette (Walter) Mock, John Pugh and Michael Todi and two great-grandchildren, Christian Lester and Seth Owen Prevost.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Lakeside Nursing Home's Main Dining Hall on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 2:30 pm with Fr. John Tokaz officiating.
