Alexandra Lee “Lexie” King of Trumansburg passed away at home on Friday, November 8, 2024 at the age of 78.
Lexie was born in Ithaca on November 6, 1946, the first daughter of the late Robert E. and Mabel (Crippen) King. She graduated from Charles O. Dickerson High School in Trumansburg and remained in the area her entire life. Lexie worked at Deanco Inc. in Ithaca for many years before working at Jackson Hewitt for 19 years. An avid crafter, Lexie enjoyed crocheting, weaving, and knitting and sold her items at local craft fairs and bazaars. Her chair-caning started as a hobby, but became so popular she started her own caning business. At home Lexie enjoyed gardening, bird watching, collecting spoons and tea cups, caring for her two beloved cats, and spending time with her companion of 40 years, Dick Albertsman. She was also a member of the Interlaken Historical Society.
Lexie is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Lewis) Boyce; granddaughter, Ashley (Bryan) Conover; step children, Kathy (Pat) Howe and Matthew (Jennifer) Albertsman; step grandchildren, Julia and Tyler Hurlburt and Evelyn Howe; sisters, Christine (David) Houseworth and Karen (David Drumheller Sr.) King; niece and nephew, Robin (Carl Head) Houseworth and Schuyler (Annie) Madison; great nieces and nephew, Cecilia, Maeve, and Liam; and many cousins and extended family. In addition to her parents, Lexie was preceded in death by her companion, Dick Albertsman; and a grandson, Alexander Boyce.
