ALICE Naomi Tillotson NENO, of 1959 Mecklenburg Road, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at Cayuga Medical Center on September 9, 2009. She was 84 years old.

Born March 21, 1925, in Remsen, NY, Alice was the daughter of the late Herbert and Marie Tillotson. A 1942 graduate of King Ferry High School where she was salutatorian, Alice took post graduate courses in typing, shorthand and accounting then was employed by Grange League Federation (GLF - now Agway) in Ithaca. Her strong business skills working alongside her husband, John, contributed to the success of family-owned businesses including; Johnny's Welding Service, The Iron Shop, and until their retirement, Johnny's Wholesale, Inc.

Alice enjoyed flying with her husband in their airplane, camping, playing the piano and organ and sharing her homemade apple bread, apple pies, strawberry jam and sweet pickles. She was a member of the Newfield United Methodist Church, the Kennedy Corners birthday group, Enfield Senior Citizens (where she served as treasurer), Enfield Breakfast Club and the Newfield Red Hat Society. Alice volunteered her time and talent as a Sunday School teacher and choir member at Kennedy Corners United Methodist Church and as a Camp Fire Girl leader. She and John also were team leaders for "Marriage Encounter." Alice lived her life unselfishly, always putting others before herself. She has a special place in heaven and in all our hearts.

A resident of Enfield, Alice and John A. Neno, Sr. were married for 58 years and raised a loving family consisting of daughter Barbara (Herb) Masser and sons John (Diana) Neno, Jr., and Richard (Judy) Neno. Other survivors include her sister Marion Thompson (Frank Bowman) of King Ferry, NY, a brother Herb (Esther) Tillotson of Van Etten, NY, a Sister-in-law Dona Neno of Lansing, NY and grandchildren Heather (Ken) Allen of Ithaca, Stephanie (Eric) Hanville of Ithaca, Jennifer Hoffman of Mays Landing, NJ, Richard Neno, Jr. of Ithaca, Nicholas Masser of Ithaca, Catherine and Christina Neno of Poughkeepsie, NY and Kasey (Mike) Purcell of Syracuse, NY.

Alice was blessed with 7 great grandchildren; Austin, Morgan, Kaylyn, Cayden, Eric, Emma and Chase, along with a treasured extended family. Alice was preceded in death by her sister Alma and her parents.

The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, September 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Sunday, September 13, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the Newfield Methodist Church, 229 Main Street, Newfield. Funeral services will be held, at the church, at 4:15pm on Sunday, September 13, 2009 officiated by Pastor Sam Neno and Pastor Janice Downey.
