Amy M. Tunison Cusimano of Danby passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 1, 2022 at the age of 63.
Amy was born in Ithaca on February 21, 1959 a daughter to Paul Tunison Sr. and Annabelle (Underwood) Seamon. She graduated from Trumansburg High School Class of 1977. Following her graduation Amy worked a variety of places of the years but always found herself drawn to being a part of the Danby community. She was instrumental in helping make Jennings Pond State Park a safe, clean and fun environment for the community for several years. She worked at the Danby General Store where she met and enjoyed talking with fellow members of the Danby community. She always loved animals, Especially dogs. Amy and her family cared for several over the years. She was an avid gardener and had quite the green thumb. The flower beds in front of the house were always blooming. Amy’s home was always a safe loving place where her children and their friends as well as her nieces could all gather whenever they liked. Her door was always open. Amy was a very kind, generous woman regardless if it was for her own family or the community she lived in.
Amy is survived by her two sons, Nicholas (Ashley) Boyer and Mason Cusimano; grandsons, Logan White and Owen Boyer; siblings, Jeffrey (Rose) Brainard, Paul (Kathryn) Tunison, Elena Welch, and Leon (Patty) Tunison; mother, Annabelle Seamon; good friend, Lee Schafrik; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Tunison Sr.; husband, Cosmo Cusimano; and brother, Randy Brainard.
