Ann Ida Weatherby Raymond

Ann Ida Weatherby Raymond, a resident of Cayuga Ridge Extended Care in Ithaca, formerly of Trumansburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the age of 77.

Born on May 20, 1935 in Ithaca, Ann Ida was the daughter of Ellsworth S. and Cora E. (Campbell) Weatherby. From an early age on the family farm to present day, she harbored a deep love for horses. Ann Ida was an avid NASCAR and Yankees fan but the center of her world was family. Nothing made her face light up with joy more than the sight of her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

In addition to working at Cayuga Ridge for 15 years, Ann Ida also served as their Union Steward for Local #1199. While living at Cayuga Ridge, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends and served as the President of the Resident Council for many years.

In addition to her parents, Ann Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Raymond, Sr. She is survived by two sons, Robert W. Raymond, Jr. (Cindy) and Michael W. Raymond (Lisa); one daughter, Bobbi Ann Eaton; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Richard C. Weatherby (Joanna), Alan Weatherby (Barbara) and Carl Smith; two sisters, Diane W. Sherman (Roger) and Karen Premo; many nieces and nephews and a special friend since childhood, Patricia Ditmars. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to everyone at Cayuga Ridge who cared for Ann Ida over the years.

A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in the Cayuga Ridge Dining Hall with the Rev. Dennis Christiansen officiating.
