After moving to Trumansburg in 1955 with her husband, the late Charlie
Hoagland, she made this her home for her remaining years. Audrey worked
as a waitress at Taughannock Farms Inn for 35 years, obtained her RN
license at age 50, and organized the first couples' golf league.
Audrey, and her husband, Charlie, were instrumental in the establishment
of the Trumansburg Golf Course.
Audrey is survived by a son, George; a daughter, Jean Slocum; three grandchildren,
Justine Hoagland and Kira and Kelly Slocum and three brothers, Nelson, Edmond and Ernie.
To us, her children, she represented the best of her generation: a
loving wife and mother, independent, honest, dependable, optimistic,
hard working, community oriented, and uniquely polite, always giving her
best. We could not have asked for a better Mother. We love and will
forever miss Audrey Hoagland.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of the Epiphany in Trumansburg
