WARNER, ELIZABETH, B.

On Wednesday, March 16, 2005, with family members at her side, Elizabeth B. Warner, 96, of Interlaken, N.Y. was peacefully called home to be with her Lord. Elizabeth was born September 20, 1908 in Interlaken N.Y. to Phil Van Doren and Mary F. Burdick. Elizabeth moved to Naples, N.Y. for several years and then returned to Interlaken, N.Y., where she resided for the remainder of her life. She worked for 10 years as a telephone operator at the Trumansburg Home Telephone Company and later worked for 35 years along side her spouse of 50 years, Arthur L. Warner. Together they owned and operated the Van Doren Mill, with Elizabeth working as the bookkeeper and administrative assistant. Arthur L. Warner predeceased Elizabeth in 1979.

Elizabeth was a wealth of information and knowledge on area history and local railroads. She had a great interest in reading and during her life time had read many hundreds of books. She was a self-taught artist, with various venues in Seneca County displaying her oil paintings. Family was top priority to Elizabeth and was followed closely by her love of animals.

She was a devoted animal enthusiast; her home was a loving refuge for countless lost and abandoned pets.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her son, Robert P. Warner in 1978. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis M. Wilkinson of Interlaken N.Y. and her sister-in-law, Alberta Orr of Naples, N.Y. Her adopted grand-daughter Katherine (Brian) Johnson of Loch Sheldrake N.Y., Great grandson, Jason Kline and two great-great grandchildren, Damian & Jayden Kline of Monticello, N.Y. and several cousins and countless friends.

Services will be held at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg, NY on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Pete Hood officiating. Prayers of Committal, at the Grove Cemetery, will be delayed.
