Bertha J. Hubbell, 77, of 406 Enfield Main Rd., Enfield, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, January 23, 2008.

Born January 8, 1931 in Candor, NY, Bertha was the daughter of the late Nelson and Grace (Tucker) San Soucie. After graduation from high school, Bertha was employed in a variety of occupations before retiring from her position as an office manager at Cornell University's Hotel School. She was a resident of the Enfield area for almost 50 years, where she and her late husband, Kenneth "Bud", raised their family. Bertha was a member of the Enfield Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Enfield Grange #295, and a past member of the Future Homemaker's of America

She enjoyed golf, bowling, snowmobiling, gardening and traveling.

A beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Bertha is survived by her children, Kenneth R. (Audrey) Hubbell, Carl M. (Pattie) Hubbell, Roy N. (Sharon) Hubbell, Jane A. (Stanley) Conroy, and Barbara J. (Steven) Cadogan; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, William, Stephen, Justin, Carl, Clifford, Breezy, Sheena, Nicholas, and Stefanie; and great-grandchildren Sierra, Jason, Andrew, Mallorie and Emily. Bertha is also survived by her sister, Jean Trenchard.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Bertha was preceded in death by her brother, Louis San Soucie and a sister, Blanch Stout.

A Memorial Service, officiated by Rev. Jack Osburn, will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 26, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Enfield.
