Betty Millspaugh

Betty O. Millspaugh, of Trumansburg, passed away at Cayuga Ridge Nursing Facility on Tuesday, June 5, 2013 at the age of 89.

Born in Ithaca on November 18, 1923 Betty was the daughter of the late Clarence and Emily (Durrant) Ostberg. While living in Rochester, she worked as a secretary for Taylor Instrument Company.

Betty enjoyed spending time working in her garden and reading. She loved crocheting and was proficient in several types of needlework including cross-stitch, embroidery, and creating afghans.

Betty is survived by her stepchildren, Dale Millspaugh, Roger (Chona) Millspaugh, Fred (Lisa) Millspaugh, James Millspaugh, and Brenda (Richard) Gaige; two grandchildren, Gregory (Jennifer) Benz and Jennifer Jones; 12 step grandchildren; 18 step great-grandchildren; daughter in law, Darleen Benz; and a sister, Carol (Joseph) Kaiser. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband William Benz in 1982; second husband, Arthur Millspaugh in 2010; son, Scott Benz; daughter, Patricia Jones; two sisters, Berta Feasel and June Langley; and a half brother, Ted Stivers.

The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00pm on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 11 at the Trumansburg United Methodist Church, 80 E. Main St., Trumansburg.
