Beverly B. Hastings, age 68, of 20B Prospect St., Trumansburg, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2007, in Tucson, AZ, while visiting family.

Born on February 22, 1939, in Seneca Falls, NY, Bev was a daughter of the late Harold L. Beardsley, Sr. and Josephine H. (Simmons) Beardsley.

After graduation from Trumansburg High School, Bev spent thirty two years as a secretary at Cornell University, retiring in 1995. She then spent three years working at Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services (formerly Alpha House) in Trumansburg.

Bev dearly loved her time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, including trips to Hawaii, and especially her annual trips to Arizona. She was a member of the Trumansburg Senior citizens, enjoyed reading, writing, cooking, playing bingo, and singing.

Bev is survived by one daughter, Karen D. (Steven) Sullivan of Tucson, AZ; two sons, Robert W. (Tami) Hastings, III of Trumansburg and Jason W. (Sara) Hastings of Tucson, AZ; two grandchildren, Christopher Hastings and Krystal Hastings of Trumansburg and one great-grandchild Marissa Porter. Bev is also survived by three sisters, Helen Wilkins of Ithaca; Alice Hendrix of Trumansburg and Georgia (Richard) Chesley of Interlaken; two brothers, Earl Beardsley of Sparks, NV and Glenn (Jennifer) Beardsley of Trumansburg and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Robert W. Hastings, Jr.; two sisters, Dorothea Sowards and Marie Pardon; a brother, Harold L. Beardsley, Jr. and a dear friend, Teresa Jones and her beloved dog Teddy.

A Memorial Service will begin at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, 4443 East Seneca Road, Trumansburg with the Rev. Pete Hood officiating.
