Carol S. Lukic

Carol S. Lukic of 1535 Trumansburg Rd, Ithaca went home to be with her loving, heavenly Father on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the age of 80.

Born on April 16, 1931 in Endicott, Carol was the daughter of Alexander and Esther Thalhofer Slater. Raised in Ithaca, Carol had many fond memories of the Lincoln Street neighborhood where she grew up and of her friends from Ithaca High School, where she began sharing a lifelong interest in music, complemented by her beautiful, natural voice. Carol is survived by her devoted husband of over 52 years, Zdravko “Val” Lukic; one son, Tom (Nan) Lukic of Virginia Beach, VA; four daughters, Elaine Lukic of Breckenridge, CO, BarbaraSue Darrah of Interlaken, Sofiya (Tom) Glidden of Trumansburg, and Marica Lukic-Berlenbach of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; two sisters, Annabelle Sanford of Syracuse and Marion Ball of Ithaca; 12 grandchildren; Angie and Mike Darrah, Chris, Zoe and Jack Lukic, Melissa and Jeremy Glidden and Christie Glidden Wright, Zak, Marko, Nik, and Maks Berlenbach; 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her interest in music, Carol enjoyed bowling, golfing and reading and annual trips to the New Jersey shore with her extended family; her days were always filled with prayer and bible study. She loved the Lord whole-heartedly and was a constant example of faith for her family.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janet Stephens.

She was profoundly loved by all of her family and she will be greatly missed, but knowing that she is with Jesus is their saving grace.

The family will be present to receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Corriero officiating. Prayers of Committal will follow at Frear Memorial Park.
