Carol A. Tuttle

October 16, 1958 — March 21, 2025

Ithaca

Carol A. Tuttle, a beloved sister and cherished friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2025, at the Cayuga Medical Center of Ithaca. Born on October 16, 1958, in Geneva, New York, Carol was known for her sweet and childlike personality, paired with a fierce stubborn streak that made her a force to be reckoned with. Throughout her life, she had no hesitation in making her wishes known, a quality that endeared her to many.

A proud graduate of the Smith School at BOCES of Ithaca, Carol achieved this milestone at the age of 21. Her independence was a source of pride, as she lived independently, supported by the daily check-ins from her aides and family who loved her deeply. Carol's resilience and strength shone brightly.

Her passions were simple yet profound; she found joy in the little things, whether it was enjoying sweet pickles, pampering herself with manicured nails, or indulging in her absolute favorite movie, most recently, The Wizard of Oz. These small pleasures painted her world with happiness and joy.

Carol is survived by her loving siblings: Joyce Denmark of Interlaken, Donna Creswell of Ithaca, Allen Tuttle of Lansing, Susan Barrett of Montour Falls, Helen Riley of Ithaca Jean Hubbell of Trumansburg, Patricia Tuttle of Corning, and Donald Tuttle of Interlaken. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families who will carry her memory in their hearts. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to all of Carol's health care aides for their commitment and dedication.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mildred Tuttle,  brother James McMillen and sister Ann McMillen, along with her long-time partner Mike Spori, who passed in 2019 after sharing 37 beautiful years together. Their love remains a heartfelt chapter in the story of her life.

A graveside service to honor Carol will be held on April 18, 2025, at Hector Union Cemetery in Burdett, New York at 4:00 PM.  It is a time for family and friends to gather, reflect on the love, memories, and spirit Carol brought to each of their lives, ensuring she will never be forgotten.
