Carol F. Warne

Carol F. Warne of Ovid, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Clifton Springs Hospital at the age of 68.

Carol was born in Seneca Falls and was the daughter of the late William and Pearl (Bilson) Grant. After graduating from high school, Carol began working at the Willard Psychiatric Center. After working for over 30 years at WPC, she retired as a treatment unit clerk.

Carol was an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 6200, Ladies Auxiliary Seeley B. Parish Post 457, and the American Legion in Phelps. She loved going to the Turning Stone to chance her luck with family and friends and enjoyed watching horseracing, even going to the races in Kentucky. Carol traveled across the United States from Maine to California to Florida on various trips.

Carol is survived by her nieces and nephew, Deloris Bevins of Trumansburg, Doreen VanVleet of Lodi and Darrin Grant of Interlaken and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a brother and sister in law, Alan and Shirley Grant.

The family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. Prayers of committal will be held privately.
