Carole M. (Tucker) Stickler

Carole M. Stickler, age 91, died at her Ithaca, New York home on Friday, May 31, 2024.

Carole was born on December 13, 1932 in Enfield, New York, a daughter of the late Leon and Bernice (Conover) Tucker. She was a homemaker all of her life, providing tender and nurturing care to her husband and three daughters, and their families. She also provided elder care to her siblings later in life. Carole’s greatest love in life was for her family. She hosted many wonderful family gatherings and events. She always cherished the times and pleasant memories from summers spent at the cottage on the shores of beautiful Cayuga Lake. She was always ready to lend an ear and hand to anyone in need. She loved a good story and always had the most gentle touch. She had an amazing sense of humor and loved to laugh. Carole had a strong belief in her Lord and Savior and faithfully attended the New Life Presbyterian Church, where she formed many lasting friendships.

She is survived by her daughters, Marie (Ronald) Lacey of Ithaca, Kathy (Marlin) Ballance of Cayuta, Deanna (Mark Solomon) Laurentz of Ithaca; her grandchildren, Kenneth, Heather, Kelley, Sara and Adam; 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and a special friend and neighbor, Pamela Kingsbury. Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband, Elmer in 1998 and by all of her siblings, Charlotte Ballard, Doris Willett, Juanita Wojtanik, Evelyn Volbrecht, Donald Tucker, and Shirley Boyd.

The family will receive friends at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street in Trumansburg from 1-2pm on Friday, June 7, 2024. A funeral service to commemorate her life will then be held at 2pm, officiated by Pastors Tim LeCroy and Steve Froehlich of the New Life Presbyterian Church in Ithaca. Prayers of committal will then be held at Grove Cemetery in Trumansburg. In memory of Carole, kindly consider a donation to New Life Presbyterian Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
