Charles Quick

Charles Clifford Quick of Newfield passed away at Cayuga Ridge surrounded by family on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the age of 69.

Charles was born in Candor on August 2, 1947, a son of the late Clifford Charles and Neva (Goodwin) Quick. He worked for over 20 years at Mano’s Diner in Ithaca as a baker. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed rooting for Tony Stewart, the NY Yankees, and Washington Redskins. Charles also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Charles is survived by six children, Cathy (Kathryn) Park, Tammy (Tim) McKee, Kristen Tompkins, Leslie (Nick) Thomas, Greg (Sierra) Quick, and Steve (Jen) Cole; 18 grandchildren, Dillion, Amanda, Kari, Ashley, Alyssa, James, Grace, Alana, Daniel, Nicholas, Alexis, Caleb, Alivia, Justin, Taylor, Mckayla, Justin, and Dylan; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Marshall, Elsie Quick, and Edwin (Anne) Quick; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a son, Charles Quick Jr.; brother, Tracy Quick, sister, Arlene Perkins; niece, Karina Carmack; and a brother in law, Lawrence Marshall.

A Celebration of Charles’ Life will be held from 12:00 to 5:00pm on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Ithaca Moose Lodge, 367 Elmira Road, Ithaca.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks those that would like to make a contribution in Charles’ memory to kindly consider the Smith Valley Cemetery in Wilseyville.
