Curtis E. Loomis, of Ovid, passed away at home October 8, 2007 at the age of 61.
Born October 15, 1945 in Elmira, he was the son of the late DeWitt and Martha (Burlingame) Loomis. Curt was employed at Emerson Power Transmission for 27 years, and was a member of the Chemung Valley Old Timer's Engine club. He enjoyed spending time pursuing his interest in Civil War Re-Enactments.
Curt is survived by his wife, Gail (Baker) Loomis; six daughters, Kimberly Swehla, Terri (Michael) Flanagan, Tamara (Robert) VanVleck, Andrea (Robert) McLaughlin, Melanie (Michael) Williamson, and Beth Hill. Also surviving are his son, Michael Loomis; step-children Ginger (Danny) Wood, Hope Baker, Justin Baker; 23 grandchildren; and his longtime friend, Charlie Mason.
Calling hours will be Friday, October 12, from 11am to 1pm followed immediately by the funeral service at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg.
