Curtis E. Switzer, age 92 of Trumansburg, New York went to be with his Lord, peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, November 17, 2018.
Born in the Interlaken, New York area on February 6, 1926 to the late J. Melvin and Francis (Eveland) Switzer. Being saved at a young age, the Lord was his first love and he served him with unwavering faith. He met his sweetheart, Alma June Swick in 1945 and they married 3 years later on June 30, 1948. He worked on local farms on shares until 1954 when they purchased their own farm, on which they lived and enjoyed life until the present. He served the Lord faithfully and was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church in Trumansburg, New York.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Alma Switzer; children, Stephen (Norma Elmore) Switzer, John (Joyce Compton) Switzer, and Philip (Heidi Ziefle) Switzer; grandchildren, Brenda (Anthony) Sciarra, Bruce (Christina) Switzer, Thomas (Kristy) Switzer, Keith (Zhallena) Switzer; Holly (Nathan) Weidman, Joseph (Melanie) Switzer, Kristen (Brian) Tojdowski, Julie (Kyle) Rose, and Daniel Switzer; fourteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 10:00am to 11:30am on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 5 Bradley Street, Trumansburg. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:30am at the church. Prayers of Committal will follow in Grove Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at the church.
