David W.  Hooton

David W. Hooton of 75 Rothermich Rd, Ithaca, passed away at Hospicare on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the age of 59.

Born in Ithaca on November 1, 1952, David was the son of the late William and Eva (Saunders) Hooton. With skillful hands, David was truly a “jack of all trades” who was able to create, build or fix anything that he put his mind to. He worked as a Mason at Cornell and devoted much of his spare time in restoring old cars. Besides puttering in the garage, David used his creative talents to grow flowers and to make the flower pots which welcomed visitors to his home.

David is survived by his partner, Shirley M. Holcomb and his son, Eric W. Hooton of Ithaca.

The family will be present to receive friends from 10-11 am on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg. Services will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Cheryl Hine officiating. Prayers of Committal will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Ithaca.
