Dianne J. Bailey, of 85 East Main Street, Trumansburg, passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the age of 54.
Born on September 19, 1957 in Johnson City, Dianne was the daughter of Arthur and Joyce (Hills) Havens. She worked as a nurse’s aide for 14 years at Cayuga Medical Center, treating all of her patients with the utmost care and compassion. Dianne found joy watching the sunrise as she listened to QCountry every morning with her coffee in hand. Family members as well as friends were all recipients of her knitted hats and slippers. Her cooking and baking skills were beyond exceptional. Dianne could take a small amount of ingredients and create a gourmet meal that would feed her entire family. Her cakes were always beautiful and delicious and the only complaint was that “there wasn’t enough and everyone wished there was more cake to eat.” She loved all animals and especially enjoyed watching the birds. Television programs including Ghost Hunters, Storm Chasers, and Paula Dean were rarely missed by Dianne.
Most of all, Dianne cherished time spent with her family. She had a unique way of making holidays and birthdays special, all of which were celebrated with a meal and custom designed cake. Dianne loved her grandchildren unconditionally and always took time to make each grandchild feel special.
Dianne is survived by her husband, Calvin Bailey III of Trumansburg; four children, Calvin Bailey IV of Trumansburg, Seth (Kenna) Bailey of Trumansburg, Rebekah (Daniel) Francis of Dryden, and Joseph Bailey (Rachell LaFort) of Trumansburg; five grandchildren, Brandon Francis, Deven Fowler, Jordan Bailey, Kaitlynn Francis, and Michala Bailey; mother, Joyce Havens of ME; siblings, Adriene Taylor of ME and Arthur Havens of PA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Havens, and a daughter, Rachael Bailey.
The family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, 4443 East Seneca Road, Trumansburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, June 28, the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Christansen officiating.
