Donald  L. Rumsey

Donald (Don) L. Rumsey age 67, passed away peacefully the morning of May 12th, 2008 with his family at his side, at the Hospicare and Palliative Care Services of Tompkins County, following a lengthy illness.

Born April 12th, 1941 in Enfield, NY, he is the son of Mabel and the late Walter Rumsey. A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, Don is survived by his spouse of 45 years, Kathy (Snyder) Rumsey, and their two children, Mark (Colleen) and Bob (Christine) along with 4 grandchildren Amanda, Chris, James and Cara.

The 3rd of five brothers and sisters, he is survived by Betty (Richard) Mitstifer, Esther Adams, Florence (Tony) Scaglione and Doug (Sharon) Rumsey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Don retired from ISA Babcock Breeders in 2003 after 34 years of dedicated service. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, spending time in the woods and playing with his dog, Zack.

Calling hours will be held at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg from 1 to 2 PM on Thursday, May 15. A memorial service at the funeral home will follow. Interment will be scheduled at a later time.
