Doris E. McDorman of 3817 Willet Rd., Odessa, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at the age of 96.
Born in Rochester, New York on March 23, 1912, Doris was the daughter of Jacob and Fannie (Morse) Cuvelier. Doris operated the Cotillion Beauty Salon in Trumansburg for many years. Her surroundings at work and at home were adorned with lush plants, lovingly tended by Doris. An extension of her generous heart, Doris' gentle hands sewed many keepsakes, including her favorite perpetual calendars. She also insisted on making dinner for anyone who stopped by, especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly and forever more will send soft whispers of "Gram Gram we love you!"
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. McDorman in 1965; three brothers Floyd, Vernon, and Howard Cuvelier; and a granddaughter Kimberly M. Albertsman.. She is survived by one daughter Mary Albertsman (Bernie Albertsman II); two grandchildren Paul (Sarah) Wintermute and Bernie (Kristen) Albertsman III; nine great-grandchildren Jared, Alivia, Josiah, Jesse, Madalynn, Annah and Laura Wintermute and Haley and Hannah Albertsman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 1-2 pm at the First Baptist Church, 4443 East Seneca Rd., Trumansburg. Services will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, at the church, with the Rev. Frank Adams officiating.
