Dorothy Greenwood

Dorothy Greenwood, formerly of Trumansburg, passed away on July 15, 2007 at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls at the age of 98.

Born on August 8, 1908 in Slaterville Springs, NY, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jennie (Thomas) Wright.

Dorothy was employed for many years in the office of Morse Chain in Ithaca. She was a member and past Matron of The Trumansburg Chapter #479 Order of the Eastern Star. In previous years she enjoyed golfing and times spent with her "Turtle Club".

Dorothy is survived by a step grandson, David (Barbara) Hover of Orchard Park, NY; a step grand-daughter, Patty Hover of Hamburg, NY; and two step great-grand children, Elizabeth and Danielle. Dorothy leaves behind many friends, including Shirley Boyes of Interlaken and Martha Dickson of Trumansburg.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Wright; her first husband, Paul Hover; and her second husband, Charles Greenwood.

Funeral services and an Order of the Eastern Star tribute will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 11:00 am at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg, NY, with Rev. John Kotun officiating. Prayers of committal will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery in Dryden, NY.
