Dorothy O.  Niver

Dorothy O. Niver of Ithaca passed away at Cayuga Ridge Nursing Facility on April 30, 2016 at the age of 95.

Dorothy was born in Ithaca on December 17, 1920, a daughter of the late Herbert and Ermagrade (Johnson) Oltz. She was a member of the Moose Club in Ithaca and enjoyed crocheting and walking. Dorothy was an excellent cook and loved spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by a daughter, CarolLee Ball of Interlaken; a sister, Maryl Forker of Horseheads; six grandchildren, Angela (Todd) Ball, Brian Niver, Harold (Nicole) Ball Jr., Brandy (Barry Goodband) Niver, Betrina Niver, and Chad Westmiller; six great grandchildren, Hanna, Dennis, Rebecca, Haiden, Morgan, and Autumn; two great great grandchildren Ameera and Brody; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Niver; a son, Charles D. Niver; son in law, Harold Ball Sr.; two brothers, Herbert Oltz Jr. and Steven Oltz; and a great grandson, Lucas.

The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00am to Noon on Friday, May6, 2016 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. Funeral Services will immediately follow at Noon at the funeral home.
