Douglas N. Ford of Trumansburg passed away December 30 at Hospicare of Ithaca after a brief illness.
Born in Utica, NY on March 4, 1930 to the late Marjorie (Newman) and Linus C. Ford, he was a graduate of West Canada Valley High School. He spent his early years in Newport before relocating to the Syracuse area in 1969, where he worked a number of sales positions. An outgoing personality, he was a man who could sell anything to anyone. His favorite time centered around friends and family, drinking coffee and keeping up with the Yankees.
He was a proud Army veteran who served his country in Korea.
He is survived by his sons, Steven (Ronda) Ketcham of Trumansburg, Gregory Ketcham of Johnson City, and Kerry (Jennifer) Ford of Baldwinsville; by daughters Deidra (Jerry) Rosemellia of Camillus and Wendy (Scott) Buck of Liverpool; by stepsons Randy (Barbara) Ryder of Cicero, Rick Ryder of Liverpool and stepdaughter Vicky (David) Lansing of East Syracuse; by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews.
A military funeral will take place on Friday, June 14 at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Romulus, NY.
