E. Alan Weatherby, lifelong resident of Trumansburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the age of 87.

Alan was born on September 10, 1929 to Ellsworth and Edna Weatherby in Ithaca. Alan and his wife, Barbara, were married 68 years ago and raised their children on the Fall View Farm family homestead. Along with farming, together they owned and operated the family business of Lamoreaux Quinn Service, Try Us Food and Fuel, and Trumansburg Agway. He was a successful businessman and served on many committees including the Trumansburg First Baptist Church and Farm Credit board. He was a man of strong faith and love for his family.

Alan is survived by his wife, Barbara; four children Susan (David) Collar; Robert (Holly) Weatherby, Julie (Rick) Smith, and Mary (Dan) Fox; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Richard Weatherby, Diane Sherman, Carl Smith, and Karen Premo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth and Edna; stepmother, Lucelia Weatherby; and sister, Ann Ida Raymond.

The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 10th at the First Baptist Church in Trumansburg.
