Edith H. Sanderson

Edith H. Sanderson of Trumansburg passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the age of 66.

Edith was born in Jacksonville on February 11, 1948, a daughter of the late Ivan and AnnaBelle (Drummond) Hess. She graduated from Trumansburg High School and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from TC3. After working for Verizon for 26 years, Edith retired in 1992 as a maintenance supervisor.

Edith was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading sci-fi fantasy novels, James Patterson novels, and John Grisham novels. She was a member of the “Sit-n-Stitch” group that gathered every Thursday evening. She loved butterflies and was a lifetime “Trekkie.”

Edith is survived by two children, Patricia (Dan Desmond) Sanderson and Michael (Jen Appley) Sanderson; three sisters, Sharon Austic, Linda (Greg) Jones, and Sally (David) DeNise; and her beloved cats, Junior and Kasey. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Servoss, and an uncle, Charles Drummond.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg.
