Edward B. Foster, 86, of 6024 Brook Rd, Trumansburg, passed away peacefully at home, while surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, September 26, 2009.

Ed worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps, for the government at the Hector Grazing Assoc. and Morse Chain prior to accepting a position with Cornell University at Clark Hall.

He was a member of the Searsburg Community Church, Trumansburg Senior Citizens and an honorary member of the Trumansburg Rifle and Pistol Club.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by one brother Pete Foster; two sisters Mildred Tuttle and Dorothy Terwilliger and one grandson Eddie Snyder.

Ed is survived by his devoted wife Edith of 65 years; two daughters Arlene (Ed) Snyder and Marie (Jim) Whitaker of Trumansburg; four grandchildren Kim Wooden (Wayne) of Cortland, David Snyder (Traci) of Ithaca, Mike (Kelly) Whitaker of Trumansburg, and Jeff (April) Whitaker of Pennsylvania; five great-grandchildren Tyler and Travis Wooden, Heather and Marissa Whitaker, Madison Snyder, and Cheyenne Whitaker; two sisters Geraldine Cody of Beaver Dam and Jeanne Buske of Churchville; three brothers Richard Foster of California, Leonard Foster of Mecklenburg, and Ken Foster; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg.

Services will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 30th, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeanne Bleiler and Brian Bleiler officiating. Prayers of Committal will follow at West Lodi Cemetery. Following the committal prayers, a reception will be held at the Searsburg Community Church on Searsburg Road.
