Elizabeth A. Jenner, of Trumansburg, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 11, after a life well lived at the age of 104 with her daughter by her side. Born on Groundhog’s Day in Pompey, NY, to the late Richard and Mary Long, Liz had a zest for life.
Known by many as Liz, Grandma Jenner, and the matriarch on Whig Street, she enjoyed many years boating with her family on Cayuga Lake, attending family picnics at Taughannock Falls State Park, and being the resident card shark with her friends and family. She worked at JCPenney and Holton’s Pharmacy. She loved being part of her local community, being a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxillary and Trumansburg Senior Citizens, and volunteering for the annual Senior Citizens Bazaar, and at the Gemm Shop.
Liz is survived by her daughter Margaret LaForty, son-in-law Terry Harvey; grandchildren Kimberly LaForty, Dawn (Ed) Trapp, Robert (Meredith) LaForty, Denise (Eric Kunze) Blass, Renee (Jeff) Matteson, Scott Millspaugh, Donnie (Stephanie) Jenner, Stephen (Leslie) LaForty, and Daryl Jenner; sixteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and longtime friend Lee Grunder. She is preceded in death by her husband Howard Jenner, daughter Mary Jenner Harvey, son William Jenner, daughter-in-law Jane Jenner, and siblings John Long, Don Long, Marie Reynolds, Kate Healy, Rose Ryan, Rich Long, and Paul Long.
