Ellen E. Ricketson

Ellen E. Ricketson, age 78, of Ithaca, NY passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Monday, December 12, 2022.

She was born on November 27, 1944, in Long Island, NY the daughter of the late William and Isabel (nee Thomson) Waring.

Ellen worked for several years at the Cornell Daily Sun in Ithaca assisting with advertising. Her true passion was found in the garden where she raised over 100 varieties of daylilies. A lover of dancing and the outdoors, she always looked forward to the Grassroots festival in Trumansburg.

Ellen is survived by her partner of 15 years, Bob Hoyt; her children, Carl (Christa) Ricketson and Robert (Mia) Ricketson; and a granddaughter, Alanna Hahn (James). She was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband Robert Charles Ricketson in 2000, and her brother Jay Waring.

In celebration of her life, family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on January 6, 2023, at 11:00 am at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, Trumansburg, NY.
