Elnora H. Warren

Elnora Warren of Mecklenburg passed away peacefully at Hospicare on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the age of 91.

Elnora was born in Newfield on November 29, 1923 a daughter of the late Emil and Saima (Maki) Huhta. Elnora was a faithful member of the Mecklenburg United Methodist Church and the Mecklenburg Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She helped her husband, Donald on their family farm and assisted him with vegetable gardening. A master seamstress, Elnora became a staple in the community for mending clothes, making baby quilts for the church projects. She enjoyed baking and often people stopped by to visit for coffee and cookies. Every Monday fellowship and coffee was held at her home for the ladies of the church and Mecklenburg community. Elnora also enjoyed putting together puzzles and traveling with her family.

Elnora is survived by four children, Karen (Raymond) Updike, Gail Carman, Wendy Warren, and Tom (Stephanie Bentley)Warren; two grandchildren, Michael Updike and Lisa (Tim) Updike Wells; one great grandson, Ryan Updike; 3 step grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; brothers in law, Lyman Warren and Charles (Janet) Warren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elnora was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Warren in 2002; siblings and their spouses Esther (George) Staurowsky, Elsie ( Dan) Barton, and Arnold ( Margaret) Huhta; sister in law, Emily Warren; and sister in law and brother in law Ruth (Ed) Lokken.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Mecklenburg United Methodist Church, 6063 Turnpike Road, Mecklenburg with Rev. Cheryl Hine officiating.
