Eric James McGuane, age 62, of Interlaken passed away at Schuyler Hospital surrounded by family on March 11, 2022.

Eric was born on December 27, 1959 a son to Paul and Anne (Fogarty) McGuane. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1979 to 1984. Eric was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local #277 for 30 years, working for more than 20 of those years at John C. Lowery where he met lifelong friends. An avid sportsman, Eric enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, was a lifetime member of the Interlaken Sportsmen’s Club, and was a bird taxidermist. Most of all, he was proud of being a family man who was devoted to his wife and children.

Eric is survived by his wife, Deborah McGuane; two children, Codie (LeAnn Alfonso) and Nicole McGuane; mother, Anne; siblings, Judy (Robert) Taylor, Paul “Skip” (Brenda) McGuane, and William (Helen) McGuane; beloved dog, Rambo; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. Burial with full military honors will be held at a later date at Sampson Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
