Eric. Weingarten

Eric Weingarten, age 81, of 39 Cayuga St., Trumansburg, passed away on April 3, 2007.

Born in Vienna, Austria on December 2, 1925, Eric was a son of the late Leo and Lotte (Schickler) Weingarten. The Weingarten family emigrated to the US in 1938. Eric served as a Sergeant in the 100th Infantry Division in WWII where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for bravery in action.

He received his PhD in Clinical Psychiatry and practiced in this field his entire career, first in Washington, DC and later in Ithaca. After retiring, he and his wife, Doris, chose to stay in Trumansburg, their home since 1981.

Eric will be greatly missed by his loving family: his wife Doris and children, Jeff, Lisa, Scott and Jon Krueger; his granddaughters Sarah and Anna and Daughter-in-laws Patsy and Linda.

He will be remembered by all who knew him for his humor, kindness and his gentle unassuming nature.
