Evelyn S. Georgia

Evelyn S. Georgia of Ithaca, formerly of Interlaken and Lodi, passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Friday, August 1, 2008 at the age of 91.

Born in Lodi, New York, Evelyn was the daughter of Bert and Ethel Louise McCoy Stewart. She lived in Interlaken most of her life and was proud to be active in the Interlaken Reformed Church, the Green Thumb Garden Club and the South Seneca Star Chapter #200 Order of the Eastern Star. Through her love of sewing, crocheting and knitting, Evelyn created many beautiful hand-work items. Her fondest memories were embedded through the laughter and warmth of family events and activities. She was always eager for the opportunity to take care of the grandchildren, endlessly giving of her love and affection.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Willard in November of 1984; one grandson, William Walden; two brothers, Fred and George Stewart and one sister, Oretia Fish. She is survived by three daughters, Abbye (Ernest) Walden of Interlaken, NY, Elsie (Norman) Daily of Santa Cruz, CA and Marianne Georgia of Clifton Park, NY; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Reynolds of Troy, PA, Agnes Morris of Cortland, NY and Eleanor Swartz of Ithaca, NY; three brothers, Thomas Stewart of Lodi, NY, Bert Stewart, Jr. (Bonnie) of Trumansburg, NY and Harold (Barbara) Stewart of Interlaken, NY; three sisters-in-law, Lois Humphrey of Trumansburg, NY, Kate Stewart of Canandaigua, NY and Doris Stewart of Lyons, NY and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Evelyn's wishes, services and inurnment in Lake View Cemetery, Interlaken will be private.
