Fay Finch

Fay Finch of 4509 East Seneca Rd., Trumansburg passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the age of 85.

One of nine children, Fay was born on April 22, 1927, to Floyd and Ella Finch. A salt of the earth, country fella at heart, Fay was quick to tell you his point of view and quicker to convince you that his point of view was the correct one. The completely black “Johnny Cash” attire he sported, from the wide-brim hat to supremely shined shoes, was in direct contrast to his colorful personality. He found joy in fishing, listening to country and old time rock & roll music and talking with friends about motorcycles over coffee and donuts. Fay’s candid, playful personality eventually worked its way into the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Fay is survived by several siblings, including his brother, Richard Boice of Spring Valley, CA; a nephew, Mike Finch of Virgil and his advocate and friend, Amy Stanton of Rochester, as well as the staff and his many friends at the Franziska Racker Center and Unity House.

Services will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg with the Rev. Dr. John Kotun officiating.
