Frances “Bonnie” Lewis, formerly of Trumansburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the age of 97.

Bonnie was born in East Genoa on January 13, 1920 a daughter of the late Millard and Ruby (Stevenson) Sharpsteen. Bonnie worked for many years as a clerk through Tompkins County. Following her retirement Bonnie and her husband, Victor, travelled extensively throughout the world including Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada, the Grand Canyon, and Europe.

Bonnie’s faith was always strong and evident throughout her entire life and she was an active member of the Jacksonville Methodist Church for many years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, Trumansburg Order of the Eastern Star, and Trumansburg Senior Citizens.

Bonnie is survived by a son Bradley (Lori) Lewis; daughter-in-law, Patty Lewis; five grandchildren, Miranda (Ken) Berkley, Ryan (Laura) Soule, Melissa (Ron) Maghes, Christine (Craig) Kisner, and Heather (Jason) Cheetham; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Russell Sharpsteen; a sister, Vivian Poole; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Victor Lewis on April 22, 2017; a daughter, Sharon Lewis; a son, Kim Lewis; two brothers, Robert and Richard Sharpsteen; and a sister, Nettie May Heisner.

A Celebration of Bonnie’s Life and luncheon will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Jacksonville United Methodist Church. Prayers of committal will be private for family in North Lansing Cemetery.
